The Technical Architect provides the technical leadership throughout the life-cycle of the project in the area of technology. Majority of responsibilities will be related to mainframe SAP application stack with some focus on non SAP applications (IBM IIS, and other related applications). The architect provides a broad level knowledge in networking, communications, operating systems and database management systems in order to devise and establish a financial application and business intelligence environment. Actively partners with the solution architect to conceptualize and describe the overall architecture, components and infrastructure; develops and selects architectural standard and ensures architectural consistency. Overall responsibilities include the evaluation, selection, and implementation of the technology infrastructure. In addition, performs key tasks such as capacity planning, performance analysis, and technology integration.
The Technical Architect advises on technical issues, installs hardware and software as needed to support the project. The Technical Architect will provide software library control for data and programs (as needed), assists cut-cover and helps diagnose and fix bugs where they involve system software and hardware. The Technical Architect will be the overall designer for methods of network integration and coordination of hardware and environment for the project team. The Technical Architect will coordinate with network and operations staff in identifying required network architecture in terms of nodes and setting for processors and communications between nodes, protocols, and related components.
The Technical Architect works closely with data center managers to coordinate project related tasks and deliverables. Anticipates opportunities and issues that may arise in an oursourced type data center environment and plan mitigating activities accordingly.
